PRESIDENT'S CORNER
All Treats, No Tricks
How can we already be in the last days of October?!? With DASH Week and Halloween, Pegasi are staying busy and shining brightly. It's peak season for our creative kids, and I hope you find a reason to snap a few pictures this week.
As we wrap up the month, please make a plan to vote (early voting ends Friday, Nov. 1), weigh in on next year's district calendar, and check out the Guild's volunteer opportunities this week too. Starting next week, we will focus squarely on the Senior Showcase and all the exciting events surrounding the end of the year. Be sure to mark your calendar for our next Theatre Guild Meeting after PTSA on Tuesday, November 12. Until then, here's to all treats and no tricks!
You can use this interactive map to see wait times at all the voting centers in Dallas County. When polls are open, the circles will be green, yellow, or red. Green means little to no wait times and red have the longest lines. https://www.arcgis.com/.../b4061814603441eaa2f7489043e796f4
Please reach out to our Community Outreach Chair Shelby Bobosky via email sponsorship@btwtheatreguild.com for more information about Corporate Sponsorships.
Please consider donating a few of the items we need to host visiting college reps for Showcase from our Amazon Wishlist.
Dallas ISD evaluating calendars for Upcoming School Years
Dallas ISD is seeking additional input about the draft calendars. Based on feedback, draft calendars have been prepared for additional consideration for the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 school years. If you would like, please provide comments to the calendar committee by Friday, Nov. 1, using this link. The calendars will be presented to the Board of Trustees on Nov. 7, 2024.

Upcoming Play Bill Ad Deadline
Fall Musical Theater Show –
November 3, 2024
What: Student Recognition Playbill ads are an excellent way to celebrate a student who is in the CAST or CREW of the show or show your support for Booker T Theatre performances. Additionally, we can have Playbill ads to recognize our support of the BTW staff and faculty.
How: It is easy – just submit the artwork (picture or clipart) and the copy (text) you wish to have with the artwork to the Playbill Coordinator at playbill@btwtheatreguild.com. Or you can create your own ad. Please include the size ad you are purchasing.
What does it cost to place an ad in one Playbill?
Full page 5"x8" $75
Half page vertical 2.5" x 8" $50
Half page horizontal 5" x 4" $50
Quarter page 2.5" x 4" $25
Where can I buy an ad? Ads can be purchased online using this link to the BTW Theatre Guild or you can use your membership benefits for an ad. Theatre Guild membership benefits for guild members at the Copper ($75) level and above include one or more ads.
Does my membership come with an ad? All levels at Copper or above get FULL page student recognition playbill ads (which can be broken into ¼ or ½) as follows:*
Copper 1 page per school year
Silver 2 pages per school year
9th Grade Only Gold 3 pages per year
Gold 3 pages per school year
Platinum 4 pages per school year
Diamond 6 pages per school year
If you are already a member, please make sure to tell us that you intend to use one of your included ad when you email your ad materials to playbilldesign@btwtheatreguild.com
We don't want to miss an appearance or accomplishment! We rely on our guild members to let us know where to spot a Pegasus in the wild. If your Pegasus is in a non-Booker T production, please let us know. Our talented kids are so busy we need your eyes and ears to make sure we get the word out. Please include viewing dates, ticket links and any other details that will help us spot a Pegasus in the Wild. Alumni are Pegasi as well so keep those tips coming in too!!!
Learning Lab instructor Lauren LeBlanc appears in Undermain Theatre's production of Eugene Ionesco's absurdist comedy Exit the King. The show opens this week and runs through November 24.
Last week, Suede Lacy (Visual Art 2015) competed against Torre Blake in a Battle pairing chosen by Coach Snoop Dogg. You can see Suede's battle performance using this link. If you are not familiar with the show, The Voice Battle rounds center around the Coaches as they choose two members of their own team to perform the same song together onstage, and in the end, their Coach decides the winner. Coach Snoop chose Torre Blake so Suede will not be continuing on in this season of The Voice. You can follow Suede to see what he is up to next. Here are links to his Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.
This week The Voice Battles Rounds continue on Monday and Tuesday and it is expected that you will be able to cheer on Georgia Starnes (Theatre 2020).

All Facebook groups are private and you will need to provide your BTW student's name and answer the questions in order for your request to join to be approved.
