RSVP for Lunch with the Principal
The PTSA invites all parents to join us for our casual Meet & Greet Lunch Talks—a great opportunity to connect in small groups and hear school updates directly from the principal in an informal, welcoming setting. These sessions foster community, conversation, and a deeper understanding of what’s happening at BTWHSPVA.
The next lunch talk is scheduled for October 7th from 12:30 PM - 1:15 PM in the Library. Light bites and refreshments will be provided, so please RSVP by Wednesday, October 1st to help us plan accordingly.
After the session, parents are welcome to stay and enjoy lunch with their student on campus. We look forward to seeing you there!
What is the PSAT? The PSAT or Preliminary SAT is a practice for the SAT and potentially a pathway to scholarships. BUT only PSAT scores from 11th grade will qualify a student for National Merit Scholarship Program.
Who takes the PSAT at Booker T.? All 10th graders at Booker T take the PSAT free of charge during a school day in October.
Why would an 11th grader want to take the PSAT? IF a student is interested in trying to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship program, they must take the PSAT when they are a junior to be considered. Scores from 10th grade will not be considered. See link to NMS program guide for ALL of the current requirements.
How do you make sure your student is registered to take the PSAT in October 2025?
According to the September 26 Pegasus Central all 10th graders are taking the exam free of charge. You should reach out to Amber Baker-Edwards about interested 9th or 11th grade students.
