PRESIDENT'S CORNER
Showtime!
Have you had a chance to see Mr. Burns: A Post-Electric Play yet? You simply must. It's a riveting piece of theatre based around the 1993 "Cape Feare" episode of The Simpsons, and it resonates so well with our post-pandemic experience. The show has you simultaneously laughing out loud and holding your breath as the story develops. From the acting to the costumes to the fight choreography, the students' extraordinary talent is on display throughout.
A huge round of applause to everyone working so hard to support our kids and this fantastic show - our teachers, our volunteers, our patrons - we are grateful for each of you! Please use the links below to purchase tickets and sign up to volunteer.
Auditions will be held before school from 8-9am on Monday September 30 through Wednesday October 10. Students need a maximum of 1 minute monologue. Everyone auditioning should complete the online audition form which includes listing all conflicts through the performances on December 12.
Note that 10 Minute Plays Festival rehearsals are held BEFORE school up until tech week.
Students CANNOT do both TEN MINUTE and STRUT, they will conflict during tech week.
We can't do this without you! All concessions and merchandise sales benefit our amazing students and faculty! Please use the link to review the available slots below and sign up for concessions & dessert donations or to be a volunteer for "Mr. Burns, A Post-Electric Play."

If you are planning to visit a college to take a tour or audition, you may want to check their production schedule to see a show on campus. Bonus if you are able to catch a Pegasus in the Wild by spotting a Booker T alum performing. For example, Jude Baremore (BTW 2023) will be in Oklahoma City University's production of the Drowsy Chaperone October 4-6. Aiden Valentine (BTW 2023) will be in Texas State University's Sister Act November 22-24. With so many recent Booker T. alums at school's across the country it is definitely a great idea to seek them out. Your schedule may not allow you to see a Pegasus performing, but could still ask if they can make time to tell you more about their school. Fly High Pegasi!

Countdown until Senior Showcase!
Remember that Senior Showcase for the Theatre Conservatory occurs on Friday November 22 and Saturday November 23. (That is the Saturday before Thanksgiving. If you are planning to travel you will want to take that into consideration.) Showcase requires lots of Theatre parent volunteers to run smoothly. The Theatre Guild looks to the parents of 9-11th graders because parents of seniors are not allowed to be present at or volunteer during Theatre Showcase Events. Theatre Tech seniors will also seek out Juniors to help them with the set up and breakdown of their tech displays during Showcase Saturday. If you are the parent of a junior who plans to showcase in tech, this may provide a great opportunity for your student to see what to expect.
