PRESIDENT'S CORNER
First Day of School
Welcome back to early alarms, downtown traffic, and some shiny, new additions to the school campus! We made it to the first day of school. With Pegasus Pickup and Summer Bash, our year is already off to a great start, and we have so much to look forward to.
To our new members, especially Freshman, welcome to the BTWHSPVA Theatre Guild Family! We are here to support you and your students so do not hesitate to reach out. To those in the middle-most era of this crazy high school journey, welcome back! And to our Seniors, hang on - this year will fly by! We are excited to walk alongside our Pegasi as they experience all the last firsts of high school and chart their paths into the future.
If you are looking for ways to get involved, Theatre Guild Meetings are a great place to get information about upcoming events and to hear from Ms. Price. Our general meetings are typically held after PTSA Meetings, and we will always send meeting information in the newsletter. I look forward to seeing everyone at our First Guild Meeting and Welcome Dinner on September 3 at El Fenix!
Classes start Monday August 12th but there has been a lot going on as the Theatre Conservatory gets ready for a new year.
Pegasus Pick Up 2024
Huge thanks to all of the Theatre Guild volunteers that staffed the Theatre Conservatory table July 29-31 to help the faculty and students during Pegasus Pick Up.
Theatre Guild Summer Bash
On Friday, August 9, the Theatre Guild and Senior helpers welcomed the newest Theatre Conservatory students with a fun dinner at Spark! Parents heard from Theatre faculty and students participated in a scavenger hunt. Thanks to all of the Theatre Guild Board members that made it possible! You can see more pictures from Summer Bash and other Guild events here.
BTWHSPVA Faculty Breakfast
The Theatre Guild provided breakfast for the entire Booker T Washington faculty as they prepared for the start of the school year. Big Thanks to Theatre Guild Hospitality Chair Leah Mora for creating a special start to a day full of Professional Development.
Theatre Conservatory Lunch
Last week, Hospitality Chair Leah Mora also planned a back-to-school lunch for the Theatre Conservatory faculty and consultants. Thanks to Leah and Adam Mora who were on hand to make sure that all went smoothly as the Theatre Conservatory enjoyed their meal from Flower Child.

We don't want to miss an appearance or accomplishment! We rely on our guild members to let us know where to spot a Pegasus in the wild. If your Pegasus is in a non-Booker T production, please let us know. Our talented kids are so busy we need your eyes and ears to make sure we get the word out. Please include viewing dates, ticket links and any other details that will help us spot a Pegasus in the Wild. Alumni are Pegasi as well so keep those tips coming in too!!!
If you are the parent or guardian of a Theatre Conservatory student you are invited to join the individual class Facebook group for additional information & updates about everything that is going on at Booker T.
All Facebook groups are private and you will need to provide your BTW student's name and answer the questions in order for your request to join to be approved.
