PRESIDENT'S CORNER
North Texas Giving Day
I really enjoyed seeing our members and chatting over enchiladas and margaritas Tuesday night at El Fenix. Thank you to our board members for being available to share all the guild does. The best part of the evening was listening to our conservatory teachers talk about plans for the year and letting us know how we can best support them.
One of the ways we help support conservatory needs is financially, and a great way to raise additional funds is through North Texas Giving Day this Thursday. Read all about how you can participate in this edition of the newsletter. In addition to financial support, there is a hands-on volunteer opportunity this Saturday in the costume shop. Check it out below!
Finally, I hope we will see both parents and students Thursday evening for a special (FREE!) performance by professional actors with Fair Assembly Theatre Company. Any donations will go straight to that evening's performers.
The Theatre Guild is EXCITED to share, four Theatre Guild Families have offered to match donations made to the Booker T. Theatre Guild during North Texas Giving Day. Hairspray finished its two week run!
Theatre Guild would like to give a big shout out to everyone involved in the All School Musical! Congrats to our friends at the PTSA on completing your first All School Production of the year! While Hairspray may be a PTSA production, we wanted to give an extra shout out to all the Theatre Conservatory students who poured their hearts and souls into the production. From seniors with years of Booker T training to the freshman working on their very first Booker T production, the Theatre Conservatory students did an amazing job! For some, the work was a marathon that started at the end of the last school year. Others joined in over the summer and still more heeded the call closer to opening night.
If you saw Hairspray, you likely recognized A LOT of Theatre kids from the house crew welcoming you to those singing and dancing onstage and all of those working backstage and behind the scenes by building and then moving the set pieces, working in the costume shop, wrangling the props, designing (the sets, lights, costumes, and make up), manning the lights, perfecting the 60s hair, applying makeup, and calling the cues to make it all work. And we'd be remiss if we did not acknowledge that the supportive Theatre faculty and LOTS of parents that made it possible for the students to do their thing. We tried our best to track down the names of all the Theatre Conservatory students that helped (and relied on the Playbill quite a bit) but please know that there are many others that quietly pitched in on Hairspray or helped elsewhere to make sure the students in Hairspray were covered in other ways.

We don't want to miss an appearance or accomplishment! We rely on our guild members to let us know where to spot a Pegasus in the wild. If your child is in a non-Booker T production, please let us know. Our talented kids are so busy we need your eyes and ears to make sure we get the word out. Please include viewing dates, ticket links and any other details that will help us spot a Pegasus in the Wild. Alumni are Pegasi as well so keep those tips coming in too!!!
If you are the parent or guardian of a Theatre Conservatory student you are invited to join the individual class Facebook group for additional information & updates about everything that is going on at Booker T.
