PRESIDENT'S CORNER
December Celebrations
December is a busy month at home and at school, but take a night or two and join us for the Ten Minute Directing Festival December 5-8. Each block performs twice, so you have multiple opportunities to watch shows and to volunteer for the guild. Pay What You Can donations can be made online before the show using the link or in person at the door.
After Ten Minute ends we will be celebrating with our Guild Holiday Party this Saturday, December 9. We need your RSVP today to make sure we give our wonderful hosts, the Reyes Family, a proper headcount. When you sign up, you'll also see an opportunity to bring a beverage or treat to share or donate for a holiday gift for our staff. Remind your other Guild friends to join you there!
While you are getting into the holiday spirit, check out the Booker T Angel section and find a way to give your time or donations to our "adopted" Holland Elementary School Family. Gifts must arrive by December 12. We need lots of help wrapping those gifts after the PTSA meeting that day, so come join in on the fun!
If you would like to contribute to the gifts given to the Theatre Teachers at the Holiday Party, you can do so via Venmo @T-Woodchek Or contact Tamara Woodchek, if you would prefer to donate cash.president@btwtheatreguild.com
10 Minute Play Festival
Come see the 12 original short plays written by Booker T students and directed by the Seniors in this year's Directing Class. Performances will be at 7pm in the Brierley Experimental Theater (Black Box). There will be two separate blocks of shows so you will need to attend two nights in order to see all the plays.
This is a pay-what-you-can event meaning that your donation amount is up to you. You can use this link to get online tickets (you can show your receipt or a screenshot to our ushers). Or you can make a donation at the door.
Last week, the Showcase Wrap Up featured information about all of the college reps that participated in Showcase 2023. That turn out was due to the hard work put in by Showcase Communications Chair Cindi Wakefield and the small but mighty group of dedicated volunteers that served as the College Rep Call Team!!! Over a 2 week period this amazing team called hundreds of schools on behalf of our graduating seniors and MADE THE DIFFERENCE in achieving wonderful attendance numbers this year, both virtually and in person!

If you see one of these wonderful team members or the ever amazing Volunteer Chair Lori Volney, fist bumps are in order!
Concessions & dessert donations and volunteers are still needed for the Ten-Minute Play Festival. Please review the available slots using this link to volunteer during Ten Minute Plays.
10 Minute Play Festival Tech Rehearsals & Performances
We don't want to miss an appearance or accomplishment! We rely on our guild members to let us know where to spot a Pegasus in the wild. If your child is in a non-Booker T production, please let us know. Our talented kids are so busy we need your eyes and ears to make sure we get the word out. Please include viewing dates, ticket links and any other details that will help us spot a Pegasus in the Wild. Alumni are Pegasi as well so keep those tips coming in too!!!
We know that Theatre Conservatory student Audrey Buehler (2025) will be showing her line and lots of Theatre Conservatory students will be walking the runway in Strut on December 15th. We don't have the full list of participants yet so help us out and let us know how you or your student will be involved. This is a Dance Guild fundraiser and ticket information has yet to be released but you can pre-order a Strut t-shirt using this link https://btwdanceguild.membershiptoolkit.com/store/11527
Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors & Seniors
If you are the parent or guardian of a Theatre Conservatory student you are invited to join the individual class Facebook group for additional information & updates about everything that is going on at Booker T.
All Facebook groups are private and you will need to provide your BTW student's name and answer the questions in order for your request to join to be approved.
