PRESIDENT'S CORNER
Final Month of the Semester
There is never much downtime in the Theatre Conservatory and after a wonderful College Showcase and Thanksgiving Break our students are back at it with the final performances of the semester in the Ten Minute Directing Festival December 5-8. Students are in tech this week (playbill ads are due TODAY!). Volunteer opportunities are below and tickets will be by donation at the door.
After Ten Minute ends don't miss the chance to mingle and celebrate at our Guild Holiday Party December 9. We need your RSVP today to make sure we give our wonderful hosts, the Reyes Family, a proper headcount. When you sign up, you'll also see an opportunity to bring a beverage or treat to share or donate for a holiday gift for our staff. Remind your other Guild friends to join you there!
While you are getting into the holiday spirit, check out the Booker T Angel section and find a way to give your time or donations to our "adopted" Holland Elementary School Family.
Concessions & dessert donations and volunteers are needed for the Ten-Minute Play Festival. All concessions and merchandise sales benefit our amazing students and faculty! Please review the available slots using this link to volunteer during Ten Minute Plays.
If you've been to a Guild event where food was served, you've probably experienced the magic of the Theatre Guild Hospitality Chair. Although Showcase is one of the biggest events of the year, the fun and the opportunities don't stop in November. Consider volunteering as part of the Hospitality Committee. No cooking or donations required.... just your time. You can help scout new sources for meals. Or make the calls to place orders. You may even be able to run errands to pick up treats for our hungry Pegasi & their families.
So if you've got creative ways to feed a crowd. Or if you want to volunteer but have a tight schedule, maybe you prefer to squeeze in a few minutes to place orders. And you may even get to put your mad driving skills picking up items for events. (It's like picking up for carpool but without the kids singing show tunes or running lines in the back seat.) Times are somewhat flexible -- mainly because there are a number of options and if you were not able to help during Showcase don't worry, we will have many more events through the year. We don't want to miss an appearance or accomplishment! We rely on our guild members to let us know where to spot a Pegasus in the wild. If your child is in a non-Booker T production, please let us know. Our talented kids are so busy we need your eyes and ears to make sure we get the word out. Please include viewing dates, ticket links and any other details that will help us spot a Pegasus in the Wild. Alumni are Pegasi as well so keep those tips coming in too!!!
The upcoming cast of Junior Players' Legally Blonde will include a number of Booker T students from the Theatre and Music Conservatories. Theatre Conservatory seniors Trace Edge and Kat McElhenie will be joined onstage by Music Conservatory seniors Alexis Muturi and Keelyn Singleton. You should also look for Theatre Conservatory juniors Josiah Gamino, Isabella Gream, and Maddie Sandock. The cast also includes Theatre sophomores Coy Choi, Charlotte Foree and Annabelle Thackray as well as freshman El Wakefield. These talented Pegasi will be on stage January 4 - 7, 2024 at the Moody Performance Hall and tickets are on sale NOW at juniorplayers.org/tickets!

SENIOR CORNER
Choose Your Own Adventure
Congrats to all of the Theatre Conservatory Seniors as well as the seniors from other conservatories that participated in the Film & Musical Theatre Showcases! Ms. Price reported that the Class of 2024 received lots of praise from the college reps that experienced the staged readings of original plays, saw the short films, watched their acting monologues and musical theatre songs, and viewed their technical theatre displays. Seniors should continue to check their email for information and for additional callbacks from schools that attended in person as well as those that took part in the virtual Theatre Showcase. Each senior should have received the Virtual Showcase links via a Remind message sent by Ms Price on Monday Nov. 20th.
The Saturday Showcase Faculty Dinner baskets were a huge hit! Thank you to the Reyes, Stanley, Hoestery, McEachern, Vazir, Broadus, Elliott, Hale, Gleam, Danielson, Wakefield, Buss, Edge, Gameros, and Gilligan families for your help!
Below you will find links to the slideshows that played in the Hospitality Suite during showcase.
Alexandra Clayton is the on campus college counselor from the community based organization Academic Success Program (ASP). She is available to review students' college applications before they are submitted. She will be the person students should talk to about making sure their official transcript or letters of recommendation are transmitted from Booker T to the colleges that need them.
If you, or your senior, have any questions or want to know the most up to date information reach out to Ms Clayton at aclayton@aspdallas.org
