Short final business meeting, including voting on Guild Board for 2022 - 2023. After the business meeting, we will head to the rooftop, take in the view, and celebrate a year of Connecting & Re-connecting! Light appetizers provided. Cash bar.
On behalf of the 2022 Theatre Guild and the Booker T. Theatre Conservatory Class of 2022, please consider a donation to the Theatre Guild's Senior Scholarship Fund. Each year, the Guild awards several scholarships to graduating seniors in honor of former Theatre Conservatory Directors Louise Smith and Karon Cogdill.
As part of Booker T. 100 Year Anniversary, the Guild has set a goal to expand the number of awarded scholarships and potentially increase the amount of each scholarship. The Guild's current goal is to raise $10,000.00, nearly doubling the Guild's historical scholarships!
The Guild appreciates your thoughtful consideration in coming alongside the Theatre Conservatory's Class of 2022! Together, we can positively impact these talented students' post-high school opportunities!! Much more detail in the attached flyer.
MOCK TRIAL - National Championship Tournament
On April 28, DISD and the Dallas Bar Association honored the 2022 State Champion Mock Trial Team from Booker T with a mid day celebration in the Green Room. The Contemporary Ensemble set the mood before the team was presented with the Texas State Championship Cup and a plaque commemorating their winning season. Booker T Mock Trial has secured back-to-back Texas State Championships in 2021 and 2022. As the winners of the 2022 Texas State Competition, Booker T's mock trial team was likened to DISD's two other current State Champs: South Oak Cliff (5A Division II State Football) and James Madison (Class 3A State Basketball). Booker T will be going on to compete in the virtual National Tournament this week with 4 scheduled rounds.
