THANK YOU!
THANK YOU to Dallas' own Soul Rep Theatre Company for its generous financial donation and support of the Liberation Lab as part of Booker T.'s Beginning Playwriting class.
What is Liberation Lab?
Liberation Laboratory is a groundbreaking film and dramaturgy enrichment offering that shares space with Booker T.'s traditional Beginning Playwriting class. As currently structured, sophomore-level beginning playwrights divide their class time between attending interactive lectures and presentations in Latine dramaturgy and black history through film. This content is currently delivered by two of the nation’s most promising film scholars and dramaturgists, Keyvon Pierre and Dante Flores and, then, students participate in a structured, hands-on playwriting workshop.
Soul Rep Theatre Company was founded in 1995 to establish a theater company in Dallas dedicated to the Black experience. More information about Soul Rep's history, mission and performances can be found at www.soulrep.org
Please reach out to Rhonda Thompson at btwtheatrepresident21@gmail.com if you have a desire to learn more about, or consider financial support of, Booker T.'s Liberation Lab.
