PRESIDENT'S CORNER
A Star is Born!
Congratulations to the fantastic cast and crew of Midsummer Night's Dream and thank you to our volunteers for all their support! I was finally able to join on closing night and was thoroughly entertained. Some photos captured by Jackie Cooper of the stellar run are included below and will also be uploaded to our ZenFolio account this week.
The same day Midsummer closed, a new star was born. Baby Vilar is our first theatre baby of 2024, but he won't be the last! We wish the happy family all the best - more information about supporting them below.
There are multiple auditions this week, so make sure your student checks the calendar and doesn't miss out on any upcoming opportunities. And if you are looking to place an ad in the Mime Show playbill, get that in by tonight!
Theatre Conservatory teacher Phil Vilar & fiancée Jennifer Rottkamp's sweet & healthy baby River Augustus was born on January 26th weighing in at 7.2 lbs and measuring 20 inches. For everyone that's asked how they can shower this newest member of the Theatre Conservatory family with lots of love, you can find Jennifer & Philip's Baby Registry using this link.

Pegasus in the Wild
We don't want to miss an appearance or accomplishment! We rely on our guild members to let us know where to spot a Pegasus in the wild. If your child is in a non-Booker T production, please let us know. Our talented kids are so busy we need your eyes and ears to make sure we get the word out. Please include viewing dates, ticket links and any other details that will help us spot a Pegasus in the Wild. Alumni are Pegasi as well so keep those tips coming in too!!!
Congratulations are in order for the Booker T. Mock Trial Team. On Thursday January 25th, the Booker T Mock trial team competed in the quarterfinal round of the Texas High School State Mock Trial's Dallas ISD Regional Qualifier. This year's team is made up of seven members returning from last year's DISD Championship team: Eryn Anum 2025), Audrey Buehler (2025), Molly Chakery (2024), Isabel Gameros (2024), Olivia Lang (2025), Maxine Louthan (2025), and Erin Mansour (2025). First time team members Miranda Churchhill (2025), Ellie Oddo (Visual 2026), Abigail Smith (2027) and courtroom artist Lola Saldana (Visual 2025) joined mock trial this school year. Also returning to coach the 2024 team are lawyer advisors Abby Mathews and Bill Gameros as well Booker T's longtime advisor & enrichment teacher Satchel Victory who was joined by new faculty advisor Maddie Fulton. DISD Semifinals will be held on February 3rd at the George Allen Courthouse.
