PRESIDENT'S CORNER
Mime and Musical Theatre
The Theatre Conservatory offers students varied opportunities to follow their passions and focus on different areas of the theatre experience. One of those areas is physical theatre. Students can audition to take part in the Mime Troupe class (led by Mr. Gavitt) which is for sophomores and upperclassmen. Last week the Mime Troupe had the opportunity to collaborate with students in the Music Conservatory during their Fall Classics Concert. What an exciting way to bring different groups together!
The Theatre Conservatory also houses the Musical Theatre program at BTW. Musical Theatre (led by Mr. Miller) is an audition-only class for Juniors and Seniors (from any conservatory) that has performances throughout the school year. The first performances of the year take place this week on November 2 and 3. Students will perform solos as well as some group numbers in the Black Box. Ticket link is below.
If you still need to pick up membership merchandise, please visit us at one of the Musical Theatre performances or reach out for other opportunities.
Looking for a way to share your Gift of Time with the Theatre Guild? We arrange for food at most of the non-show Guild activities. Tasks include: ordering catering, picking up orders, or setting up meals at events. No cooking or donations required.... just any amount of your time that you can give. Times are flexible so these tasks work in the nooks and crannies of your life. NEXT UP: Senior Showcase on November 17-18 when we will feed 90+ college reps and 110 students!

Matting Senior Headshots and Resumes
The Conservatory has asked for help adding the Seniors' resumes to the frames on the wall outside the Black Box. Additionally we need to mat a second set of Senior Headshots that will be displayed in the College Rep Hospitality Suite during Showcase.
Decorating for Showcase
We would love your help decorating the Senior Cafeteria balcony and the College Reps Hospitality space (in room 174) on Thursday November 16th in the evening starting at 5pm.
Reach out if you are the parent of a senior who would like to donate or volunteer.
Questions about the meals? Reach out to Musical Theatre Parent Coordinator Stacey Brown or FTK Co-Chair Ami Edge.
Pegasus in the Wild
We don't want to miss an appearance or accomplishment! We rely on our guild members to let us know where to spot a Pegasus in the wild. If your child is in a non-Booker T production, please let us know. Our talented kids are so busy we need your eyes and ears to make sure we get the word out. Please include viewing dates, ticket links and any other details that will help us spot a Pegasus in the Wild. Alumni are Pegasi as well so keep those tips coming in too!!!
Best Drama at the All American High School Film Festival
The Healing Note, a short film by Dre Whitney won Best Drama at the All American High School Film Festival in New York. Seniors Lily Devlin and Trace Edge both had lead roles in the short film.
Mime Troupe collab with the Music Conservatory
On October 26th the Mime Troupe collaborated with the Varsity Chorale in the Fall Classics Series. A picture is worth a thousand words, especially if you're a mime.

SENIOR CORNER
Countdown to Showcase Week!
November 13 - 18
Choose Your Own Adventure
The Class of 2024 is unique. Their path through Booker T began differently than all that came before. We often hear "Fly High Pegasi" and there is no doubt that the class of 2024 is prepared to soar. Choose Your Own Adventure is the theme for this year's Theatre Senior Showcase decor in recognition that the trajectories of this year's seniors will undoubtedly reflect their varied interests and talents. If you are interested in volunteering to help set up before Showcase, we will be at Booker T on Thursday November 16 from 5 to 7pm. Reach out to the Theatre Guild's Senior Committee Chair Kathy Gameros kgameros@sbcglobal.net for other ways you can help before Showcase. (Senior parents are not allowed to volunteer at the Theatre Conservatory events or in the Theatre Guild Hospitality rooms.) A special edition Senior Showcase newsletter will be going to seniors & their families this week.
This is informational so you know what the seniors' Theatre Showcase schedule involves. Parents may come to the Thursday November 16th Dress Rehearsal. Parents of Seniors are not invited to Showcase events and cannot volunteer in the hospitality suite or senior cafeteria during Showcase.
