CONGRATULATIONS!!

We want to congratulate the following Theatre Conservatory students who were recognized by the prestigious YoungArts organization.

Each year, YoungArts identifies the most accomplished young 15-18-year-old artists in the visual, literary, and performing arts. Funding provided by the Theatre Guild allowed Booker T. students to tape their submissions earlier this semester. These tapes were entered in the YoungArts Competition in the Theater categories of acting and/or and musical theatre. This year, Young Arts chose to recognize 720 of the nation's most accomplished young artists including three Booker T Theatre Conservatory students. Winners were selected from thousands of applications and representing artists from across the United States, these YoungArts award winners will have opportunities for financial, creative, and professional development support throughout their entire careers. Selected for their caliber of artistic achievement, they are awarded in three categories: Finalist, Honorable Mention, and Merit. Congratulations to Phoenix Nady (2023), Zariyah Perry (2023) & and Jaelyn Smallwood (2022)!

HONORABLE MENTION:
Zariyah Perry (Film)

MERIT HONOR:
Phoenix Nady (Theatre/Acting)
Jae Smallwood (Theatre/Musical)
